Just a warning:

My partner and I have been quarantined together in a small french town for 21 days now. We respected all the rules and advice (only went out for shopping, short exercise walks and to go to the pharmacy). We didn't wear masks, but washed our hands thoroughly and were generally very careful during and after the outings, as well as when receiving mail and packages.

Despite all this we started showing symptoms of an illness on day 17. We have had aches and fevers for 4 days now. It is possible it isn't coronavirus, but it doesn't matter what it is. What is important to note is that even with social distancing, quarantine and caution, we are still at risk of getting this invisible virus. So please be extra careful. And wear some sort of face covering (we will start now) to prevent spread to others, even if you have no symptoms...

Johns Hopkins University has been tracking the Coronavirus/COVID-19 cases since THE Very Beginning, when there was only a few cases in China. Bravo to JHU!!!

JHU "Coronavirus Resource Center"---as @SOwithoutAneros has been showing to us --- has excellent data analysis

https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html

Tableau has some helpful data visualization

My wife has stitched our first masks. Better safe than sorry! Thumbs up!

It’s not good for elderly to take such risks as queuing for a mask in the early morning.

Joe Fan King-man, the institution’s assistant hospital chief executive, said the home-made masks had undergone laboratory tests by City University and were proven to have achieved 80 to 90 per cent of the function of regular surgical masks in terms of their filtration of aerosol and droplets.

Just to let everyone know that the person we know here as Armon-Neat may now be in hospital being treated for COVID-19.

It's a week now since I last heard from him. In the last exchange of messages we had, he was waiting on the phone to contact medical authorities about his symptoms. I fear the worst.

Please keep him in your thoughts.

@gulliver-plus, I am glad that our Aneros buddy, Armon-Neat is recovering from his COVID-19 encounter. In the years, I have known him, he would travel from his home in Israel to work in hospitals in New York State. I wonder if he had contracted COVID-19 while working in New York State recently.

@bigglansdc    Excellent news!!!

It was in fact @twlltin who mentioned Armon-Neat. Sorry about the confusion!

Although I do not know Armon-Neat in person, I do sincerely hope he and ALL Brothers and Sisters in this community are alright!  And I am really glad to learn that he is recovering!

Thankfully, I heard from him yesterday evening. He's back home after spending roughly five days in hospital with a fever.

Very unfortunately,

New York Times reported on April 14, 2020

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/14/us/bishop-gerald-glenn-coronavirus.html

A Virginia pastor who defied warnings about the danger of religious gatherings during the pandemic and vowed to keep preaching “unless I’m in jail or the hospital” died over the weekend after contracting Covid-19, his church said.

I‘m missing some humanity in the public discussion.

When a society laments the loss of an economy more than the loss of human life, it don‘t need a virus, it is already sick.
