Black Progasm "ICE" Details

What's this new Black Progasm? I have a progasm, and it's black. But I got that years ago. If this is a different product, made from the same material as the ICE, then I'd get it! But I don't want to get a polished version of something I already own.

If it's a new product, then they should have given it a better name, like BLACK ICE or Progasm Black 2.0 (or in the spirit of Apple the Progasm Black "S").

And while your at it, I'd like a Helix in stainless or ICE as well.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

I just got an ad in my email for this today; not sure what the difference is, but maybe the material selection, with black dye in it.

I have seen the new Black Ice which I reported on here-

http://www.aneros.com/forum/f5/new-models-14863/

It is made of the same material as the Ice, so no more polishing.

I'm confused by this too...after getting the email about it's release for the Black Friday sale I've been checking it out and I've noticed a couple things happen with it's listing...first the description on the website has changed from Black Progasm to PROGASM- BLACK ICE and the image that was originally showing (which didn't appear to be translucent like the ICE) has been removed and now there is no image showing. Now correct me if I'm wrong but a solid Black Progasm has been previously available, right? So what exactly is this? Would appreciate any details anyone has (perhaps someone who's already bought and received it) as I'm seriously considering getting it, especially given the sale price. For instance when it says same material as the ICE that seems to imply it's still translucent, just darker shade...like a tinted window?

sensitiveguy22,

The Classic, Eupho, Helix, MGX, Maximus, SGX & Peridise series are all made from the plastic acetal, the Tempo is made of stainless steel, the Vice is made of silicone, the standard Progasm is made from polystyrene, the Progasm 'ICE' is made from a derivative formulation of Tritan plastic. I presume the new Black Progasm is made from the same material but with a black dye added to make it completely opaque (I haven't seen it, so I can't confirm this). There are standard Progasm models in white, black, blue & red, the main difference between the two Progasm models is primarily in the surface finish. The standard Progasm has a slightly textured, matte surface whilst the 'ICE' has a very smooth, glassy finish.

Please note that Aneros did make a black Progasm in the original material, and some stockists still have them.

Yes, and I saw this online which is why I wondered. Well, I'm a little disappointed that this new one doesn't seem to be translucent like the ICE because the ICE looks so fricken cool, but I'm not going to spend 20 bucks more just for looks and I suppose looks don't really matter anyways...

Ended up ordering anyway. It's on sale and with 30% off using the emailed code, I couldn't pass it up. When I get it, I'll post pics. But yeah, they did change the name to BLACK ICE as I suggested. I DO have the original black progasm and it's not my favorite because I find that it wasn't very mobile. The reviews on the ICE were great- and I'm hoping to be one of the first to post a review of the BLACK ICE.

Guys,

I have seen the Black ICE and it is indeed made from the same material as the original ICE (Tritan) and not polystyrene as in the case of the Progasm. I love this material, it's super smooth, completely non-porous and a Black ICE would seem like a perfect addition to ones arseanal.

It appears in the picture that there might be some "less polished" areas... maybe to promote better involuntary assisted grip and slip action? Is this indeed the case that there are thought out roughed out areas or is that the reflection in the photo? ....if not... hmmm that gives me an idea.

Hello, Brian.

Thanks for letting us know what the ICE material is. I'd thought it was cast acrylic resin. I stand corrected. For those who want TMI, here:
