I have a theory that I have shared a few times in the chat room. Please identify where in birth order you fall.

My theory is that most (certainly not all) Aneros users are youngest children.

Hi @Mattp,

This promises to be a very interesting study.

Now here I am going to be self-revelatory. I come from a family of four children. My sister is the oldest. Next comes my older or eldest brother, then me, and finally my younger brother. So I am the middle male sibling. My sister apparently became the best adjusted sibling. She get married just after college and had three children and apparently still married to the same man after fifty years.

My older brother came out as gay in a most brash way in 1978, finally found a gay partner in 1990 and they got married in the State of New York in 2011 when it became legal there. He tends to be extroverted.

My younger brother is a quiet individual and to my knowledge is straight. Sadly we siblings went our separate ways after my father's death in 1990.

As for myself, the middle male sibling, I tend to be reflective and a resolute scholar. One of the reasons that I use the Aneros is for sexual discovery about myself. I go to a fairly conservative church filled with old people who would be shocked to hear of my anal play with the Aneros.

I herewith add to my post the Wikipedia article on birth order taken from Birth Order Book (1998, rev. ed.).

I put youngest - but i am one of 7 children but i am the youngest boy but i have a younger sister. So technically i am not a middle child either.

so i may skew your poll lol

Ah yes t he birth order book. Kevin also wrote sex begins in the kitchen and he used that book to promote his bir th order theory as well. I am astraight married man, second born of four. First to go to college, finished as a doctor. I am Christian conservative by way of my world view. I've been on my anEros journey for 15 months roughly and nobody else close to me knows. Wife and I aren't close right now, I am what I would call a virile man. Ever ready and she is not. Living in a nonsexual relationship of not my choosing and I found this which has also been able to soothe the ache of my situation for now. No piece of plastic can replace a loving willing companion but I can't seem to have that right now.

@mattp Interesting. I think in order to refine this poll you would need to take into account the total number of siblings, the number of MALE children, and where the children are placed in the birth order. The term "middle child" is not specific enough in a family with more than three siblings. Also, time elapsed between sibling births might be important. Just sayin'

@spinx, I might agree but my theory is based on idea that personality traits are based on birth order. Youngest children tend to engage in riskier behavior and if an aneros user has a younger/older sister, that would affect his personality. I'll give it some thought.

Mattp,

Not to be picky but when you're testing a hypothesis it's usually
best not to tell everybody what the hypothesis is, lest it skews your data.

@markm -- True, but a few people questioned me and were skeptical. Not that this is a scientific questionnaire either, just some fun.

I am the very middle of 7 children. 4 boys 3 girls. The order goes from oldest to youngest: sister, brother, brother, me brother, sister, sister.

Basically the poll shows that it's random.
