About 6 months ago I came down with the flu. Not to be too graphic but I had the runs for a week. About a week after I started back with aneros for about a week, and then stopped. About two weeks later I started getting uncomfortable itching, and burning.. I came to realize I had developed a hemorrhoid/hemorrhoids... I haven't used the aneros since then. I'm not even 40 yet. From what I have read there is no cure for them. Does anyone else have them, and use aneros? Kind of afraid to try for fear it could make them worse.
@jja2 I'm sure this topic has been discussed many times before on the forum. I'm "recovering" from a bout of hemorrhoids now. Yes, the itching/burning is not very cool. But, if you treat them when they appear, you will get relief. I just use the Prep-H cream or suppositories. They help a lot. I would not consider these to be a "show-stopper" at all for my Aneros use. Neither should you! PS Watch your diet and make sure you drink plenty of water. Good luck!
To jja2: From my understanding the Aneros Peridise might be a help for
hemorrhoids, u might want to read up on the devices. Let us know.

Worst case scenario you could stop using the Aneros and start doing Aless instead.
I deal with this problem too. I use the Prep-H suppositories.
Fixing my diet has helped a great deal. Eating food with lots of natural fiber. I have at least one apple a day. Plus exercise or just walking.

Eating healthy and exercising is always good advice, but I don't see how eating fiber is a good idea since a lot of it just passes through undigested and can irritate the gut. I'm no expert on hemorrhoids but wouldn't it be a good idea to try to reduce the frequency of toilet visits and fecal amount?

Fine with me if frequency increases. I want the toilet visit to be easy, reduce the possibility of constipation and prevent a hemorrhoid flare up.

What you are describing is eating nothing but fiber all day long. If you add fiber to a diet, it doesn't make you go more often, it makes the bowel movements better formed. The hemorrhoids aren't caused as much by the food passing by but by the amount of strain needed. I used to have really bad hemorrhoids, and back then, my bowel movements were small in size but I had several each day. Plus, each one required a good deal of strain. When I added more fiber to my diet my movements were significantly larger, but required much less effort to pass, which greatly reduced the pain. Now I typically have one bowel movement a day that requires no effort whatsoever to pass. I've struggled with some serious issues with my anus and other parts of my digestion. These aren't easy issues to fix, but with some effort and dedication, the body can heal most of these issues on it's own.
I had a bad case of hemorrhoids a couple years back. It was extremely painful and lasted for 3-4 months. It all started when I was straining to pass hard stools; most likely due to a poor diet and lack of exercise. I am almost 40 and exercise much more in the past couple years, as well as trying to maintain a better diet.
I have been using some type of Aneros for almost 2 years now and have found that my hemorrhoids are almost non-existent. Sometimes if I use a larger device I will get some kind of irritation for a couple days, sometimes not. It's pretty minor anyway, comparable to irritation from a longer/more vigorous than normal bike ride.
I think the Perdise is a good model to use if you have hemorrhoid issues(good model for everyone). The Perdise line was designed specifically for hemorrhoid maintenance/prevention. I was a bit worried as well when I first started using a prostate massager that it would irritate/inflame my hemorrhoids too, but I found it to do the exact opposite.
Visit the 'High Island Health' website < http://www.highisland.com/products.php >. It has a good variety of tips/suggestions on the use of Aneros anal tools including the "Peristal" (High Island's trademark for the Aneros Peridise). Note that the HIH website is done in cool blue -- perhaps more "soothing" than the Bordello Red used on the Aneros pages. For those new to High Island... that company is the parent organization that gave rise to the Aneros product line.

How about putting your Aneros in the freezer, and giving yourself cryo treatments? It seems to work for me.
