A few beginner questions

1. This morning I was on my ~7th Aneros session, and it was feeling pretty good as usual. I was starting to get bored with no significant process, so I amped up the rate of contractions. This felt much better (but hardly orgasmic), to the point where my legs got a little tingly. This feeling came and went three times, and I eventually ended my session. Is this what the pro's call a P-wave? In reading some threads I realize that P-waves are pretty subjective, but it'd be nice to gauge my progress. I know it's not wise to establish/rush to an end-goal on my 'Aneros journey,' but I'm just curious.

2. Can a long period of time without Aneros use set back a beginner's progress? I currently live with my parents and have very little free time, so it's hard to set aside time to peacefully use my Aneros. I also have a very high libido (ordinarily masturbating 1-4x/day), so 'rewiring' is extremely difficult (I start to go crazy after 3 days). Would you just never masturbate with your penis after being fully rewired? I can't even imagine it. Could having a high libido could be a blessing towards a quicker rewiring?

3. How do you guys feel about regular massagers vs. vibrating ones? Are the former more for exercising/training your prostate, and the latter more for instant pleasure? Would using a vibrating one potentially set back progress for a beginner such as myself? Vibration sounds enticing to me, but I'd rather have expert control of my prostate if that's the alternative.

4. Is there any way to clean off the butt-stench on Syn massagers? The Syn material seems to hold on to smells more than the regular plastic ones.

Thanks!

I'm not really a "seasoned" user here, but forums are all about opinion, right? First, the one thing that moved me forward for me was Tug-of-War from the Aneros Wiki. It's in the Advanced Skills section, but I think it should be the golden advice for beginners. P-waves: If it was pleasurable, then it was a P-wave. Of course, when I read that definition in the Wiki, I didn't really know pleasure yet. By my experience, when I get "butterflies in my stomach", I'm having a P-wave. You're right, though. It's all subjective here.

Regarding long spaces between sessions, I've found that my ass needs to get back in the gym, so to speak. Just saying, the more sessions you have, the stronger and more responsive (I think) your anus becomes. Also, I don't have any problem jerkin' it when I need to, though I typically hold off on days I plan to ride. That's not to say that I haven't pigged out before just hours before, and I had one of the best rides ever. Strange. Overall, the penis is one adventure, Aneros is another, some guys like to combine them and that's fine, too.

For the vibe massagers, I'd suggest sticking to non-vibe until you're awakened. I've had a Rude Boy massager with vibe and it was too distracting.

I don't have any siliconed Aneros units, so not sure how to clean those. Maybe soak in a dilute solution of hydrogen peroxide?

Thanks for the tips! I tried the Tug-of-War method, to mixed results. I had a pretty difficult time balancing keeping my muscles still and actually taking in the sensations, but I suppose I'll improve with more practice. I got a bit of involuntaries and body numbness, which I hadn't experienced with other positions in the past. Not incredibly pleasurable, but I guess it's progress!

How do you get to Carnegie Hall? "Practice, practice, practice" ... and really taking in all the sensations..See Neros's amazing discussion thread from a few days ago. Relax and enjoy it--don't get uptight and you'll just find yourself on the other side of the hill ("I think I can, I think I can..)

@hodgepodge although everyones re-wiring journey is different for me I made a lot of progress by increasing the frequency, 5-6 times in one week. Prior to this, two weeks ago (been at this for 2 months) I was doing 1-2 weekly.

My 1st real breakthrough came early, 3rd or 4th session, when having a session lasting about 2 hours with minimal results I feel asleep with the aneros inserted. Woke up in a few hours and wow, very strong feelings and dry-O's.

After increasing the frequency (shorter 1-2 hour sessions) 2 weeks ago I learned a position that worked very well for me, gets me to the O zone in less than a minute consistently now. I now even start getting wet when the Helix comes out of the box. The position I now use to get started is laying on my belly, doing deep breathing (contractions not necessary) and imagine the aneros movement in/out with each inhale/exhale. The breathing does seem to move the aneros but not much I suspect. If I do this I'm having an O now in less than a minute. After the 1st O (may be a little milder than ones that follow) my body and the aneros seem to take over and I keep getting O after O for 10 minutes or 1/2 hour. I don't have to do porn or fantasies, just concentrate on the good feelings the aneros is creating. Laying on the belly for me seems to put pressure on the prostate from the aneros inside and pubic bone area on the other side. Really gets me going.

Hello @hodgepodge. Having a high libido is indeed a blessing and good to have for experiencing dry orgasms (as well as wet ones of course). For men new at aneros the trick is to associate your libido with your prostate rather than your penis. Libido is such a Freudian word, I prefer arousal. Go at your own pace. Long periods of abstinence from riding builds up a craving in my ass similar to penis horniness. Don't worry about masturbating now unless you're riding, it's fine. It may take you longer to awaken your prostate and rewire if you spread it out over time but you don't lose anything. It's all good. I found sleeping with it overnight helped speed up rewiring. I use a antibacterial soap and a alcohol spray on my devices. The syn smells funny out of the box.

Thanks for the tips, fellas!

@acquiescence, As it turns out, the experience in my original post was reached from laying on my belly. I'll have to try that some more in the future!

I'll also have to try sleeping with the Aneros in next time I have the house to myself...
